About
Hello! My name is Hine [hee-neh] Mizushima. I was born and raised in Japan. I majored in Japanese traditional paintings, and worked as a designer/Illustrator in Tokyo. Then I moved to Rome, then Paris, then NY. And six years ago I moved to Vancouver, Canada with my family. Now I'm also a slow Crafter, Needle-felter and Stop-motion puppet animation video artist. Recently, I have been commissioned for a number of commercial music videos, including several for They Might Be Giants. My Illustrations are mainly paper cutout and digital. My felt sculptures have been exhibited in galleries in NY, LA, SF and other cities. I also sell my felt stuff on my Etsy handmade shop.
