• With this bench, I am dealing with the forgotten aspect of benches in Oslo, that is to say, the socialization that sharing a public space implies. Behind the tilting effect of the planks, there is an intention of delimiting two stages in the object. The passive bench or the non-functional bench first of all expresses the broken feeling in the initial stage of being a foreigner, that incapacity to understand what the codes are which would allow for a space to be shared, and secondly, the question of what the real need for benches is in Oslo and whether we really do need another bench. Then there is a balance aspect, the one that does not imply a verbal agreement, an aspect to bear in mind in this silent culture. The balanced stage of the bench corresponds to the embedded eagerness that design has for understanding and shedding light on the idea of possibility.
