A creative exploration of gender in gaming. A practical component of my BA (hons) Degree 2016.
The practical project will be created in the form of internet art. The artwork will act as a digital interface through which the offline player interacts with an avatar in an out of game context while a real life scenario unfolds. The practical project will seek to influence the players emotional reaction and moral preconceived notions of gender by means of a non-linear dynamic narrative. In the narrative the player will be introduced to a transgender NPC avatar throughout the various phases of the avatars transition, by means of an interactive dialogue. The practical project seeks to provoke specific user reactions by means of visual, narrative and audio-visual cues that deliver the practical project as an interactive system.
