Juan Carlos Pagan is a Designer, Typographer, and Art Director living and working in New York City. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 2006 with a B.F.A in Communication Design he began working on a variety projects ranging from identity and typeface design to exhibition and book design. He recently graduated as part of the inaugural class of Type@Cooper, the Postgraduate Typeface Design Certification Program at Cooper Union.
Employed previously at G2 Worldwide, and MTV, Juan is currently the Head of Design at DDB New York and a Partner at the boutique Brooklyn based Type foundry Pagan & Sharp. His work has been recognized by How Magazine, Print Magazine Regional Design Annual 2012, Luerzer's Archive Magazine Vol.3 2012, Communication Arts Advertising Annual, Communication Arts Typography Annual 3, The One Club, The Clios, and The Type Directors Club / TDC58. In 2011 Juan won both the Silver & Bronze International Young Guns Awards. In 2012 Creativity Online and AdAge named him A Creative You Should Know.
Some of his clients include: MTV, Pinterest, Asian American International film festival, DDB, G2Worldwide, The Art Directors Club, AIGA, Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation, The Developers Group, Three Olives Vodka, New York Lottery, New York Times Magazine, and Print Magazine.
